While we do not currently offer mutual funds, for your fund investment needs you could invest in ETFs through your Globalise account. Like mutual funds, ETFs offer diversification by spreading your investment across multiple stocks and/or asset classes. ETFs are highly liquid and offer transparent pricing as they are traded on exchanges like a stock. There is no limit to the amount you can invest in the US. However, there is a limit on the amount that you can send abroad from India each year. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) currently allows each Indian resident to remit a maximum of $250,000 (~ ₹1.75 crores) per year for investments. That means, as a family of 4, you can remit and invest a maximum of $1,000,000 (~ ₹7 crores) each year.

There is no maximum limit on the number of foreign securities that can be held by an Indian resident. However, under the LRS (Liberalized Remittance Scheme) an amount up to $2,50,000 (~ ₹1.75 crores) per resident individual can be remitted outside India in each financial year (April–March).
